He just let you sob in his arms, hoping that he could give you at least a little bit of comfort in spite of what you lost. He didn’t want you to hear his sobs, and if he opened his mouth to speak he knew he would just cry. You knew he couldn’t say anything to comfort you anyways, as he was crying pretty hard too. He just sat there and rubbed your back as you sobbed into his shirt. Dallas didn’t try to console you he knew that this was too much for you to lose. He wrapped an arm around you and let you lay on his chest in attempt to comfort you. You started sobbing and Dal hung his head. “Is he okay?”ĭal shook his head as he wiped his tears away. “Dally,” you said with your voice breaking. There were tears streaming down his face. “The doctor said cuz labor was pre term it was already high risk, and…” Dally couldn’t finish the sentence. “What’s wrong?”ĭal sat on the bed next to you and put your hands in his. He tried to smile, but you could see the sadness behind his eyes. You felt hot tears stream down your face and your mind ran wild.Ī few minutes later the door clicked open and Dallas walked in. You struggled to breathe in the empty room. None of the nurses respond to you as everyone left the room. “Where are you taking him?” you asked with a shaky voice. The doctor signaled for the nurses to take your baby away and asked to talk to Dallas in the hall. You felt your eyes swell with tears as you watched Dal talk to the doctor. He let go of your hand and walked over the the other side of the room where the doctor was with your baby. “I don’t know baby, I don’t know.” He said looking around the room. You looked up too and saw the doctor working on your baby from across the room. You saw Dal’s face fill with worry as he looked up and around the room. You were to dazed and tired to ask anyone what was going on, you just looked at Dal and attempted to smile.ĭallas smiled back at you and kissed your forehead, moving a piece of hair off your face.

The nurses were rearranging the room and the doctor was barking instructions out at rapid fire speed.

You gave one big last push and you saw everyone move around you.

You were grateful that he was by your side this whole time though. You were too tired to respond to him or even smile at him. You cussed under your breath as you pushed again. The baby was stuck at a bad angle, And the doctors said it was too late for a c-section. Even though he came home tired and sore every day, he always came home and told you he loved you and asked how your day was. He hoped that eventually y’all would be able to get a bigger place in a nicer neighborhood. He had gotten a job and worked six days a week so you guys would have enough money to support a child. Dally was so excited to have a baby with you. You guys had gotten at the hospital last night, and you had been in labor for over 12 hours. It hurt with all you’re being to keep pushing, but there was promise of you and Dal’s baby at the end of it.ĭallas was right by your side, holding your hand and wiping your forehead. “Just one more push!” You heard the nurse say.
